My friend, who is a great musical artist, has no idea how to turn her Mac into a recording studio.
"I don't know how to...Garage Band." She says.
I will meet with her and transform all of this.

I LIKE IT LIKE THAT 6
Notes on I LIKE IT LIKE THAT 6.
Questions:
"Your tone sounds great. Do you use a pedal board when you gig, and if so, what is in your signal chain?"
On this recording I used Chuck Banks' Squire four string fretless. It's a nice little bass, I like to play it and it usually is hanging out.
The signal chain was a basic plugin bass amp with the bass boosted. The Paul McCartney sound, or as close as you can get.
It's a maraca sample at half speed.
The song is all me, so to speak.

Questions
"Either your music makes me laugh (like this one), or it makes me cry (like “Vampire in Montana”). Either way, it’s good feelings.
I
LIKE IT LIKE THAT 6 is so happy. I need all the happy I can get these
days.
There are so many layers in this song.

It sounds like you have put a lot of work into this piece…So many tracks…and they all gel.
Sometimes your guitar sounds like Bonnie Raitt’s guitar.
Sometimes your guitar sounds like Bonnie Raitt’s guitar.
The African American voice…How did you create it? Is that your voice?
What is the name of the instrument that makes the “shaker” sound? (I am embarrassingly clueless.)
I assume that sound was made electronically, and I assume this song is “all you.”

What’s the name of the style of this song?"

Thanks for the Bonnie Raitt compliment. Hadn't thought of that but perhaps I do copy her.....
It's Louis Armstrong singing through me.
The song is all me, so to speak.
Of course the song is a cover of a hit by Dave Clark Five in 1965.
That's the version I grew up with. Always loved it.
Anyway, I've been tossing around covers to record in my head, and I kept hearing this song as a New Orleans piece.
So I find the original from 1961 or 62 and one of the co-writers is Alan Toussaint, a great New Orleans pianist.
So it is my interpretation of New Orleans in this particular song, if that can be called a style.
