Inkscape allows the creation of vector images from pretty much any image file.
Open Inkscape and load an image.
Select the image and then in the menu select Path > Trace Bitmap.
You will probably need to adjust Brightness cutoff and/or Threshold to get your
trace to look just right.
So then do this.
You can do this over and over, with the
You will need to save this file. (It will be an SVG that Blender can import.)
Open this file in Blender and then you can export it as a DXF file into an autocad (Dassault) emulator. Then do what you wish.
All manner of edits can ensue.

This can just go on forever. Especially if you use BLAM in Blender to set pure XYZ coordinates.
Perhaps the ideal thing is just to have a great artist like my son Joseph Banks to draw it in 2d.
